Quote used in Othello and BNW John/Othello: " O thou weed, who are so lovely fair and smell'st so sweet that the sense aches at thee. Was this most goodly book made to write 'whore' upon?" In BNW, John uses this quote to describe Lenina. John had thought of Lenina as an idol, something to worship. When she removed her clothes to show what her society does as affection, this insults John who believes that sex should come after marriage. Because of this, he calls Lenina a goodly book made to write whore upon.
In Othello, Othello believes that his fair wife, Desdemona, was sleeping with someone else ( though she was really framed). Like John, he had previously thought that Desdemona was someone to worship.
